    ALL STAR SCHOOL LUNCH!! SCHOOL BREAKFAST--READY, SET, GO!!! If we can be of any assistance, feel free to call! ATTENTION!!! There have been some price changes as noted below. Please take note and make sure enough money is given to your child for meals! Thank You! There are many of you parents who send in lunch money for their children. We ask that you please indicate your child's name or lunch number on your checks or payment envelopes. Many times we receive money with no name, class or any way of knowing who should receive credit for the money. Thanks for your attention to this matter! Parents, please let us know if your child has any food allergies or other special dietary needs. There is a diet prescription that needs to be filled out by your child's Doctor and returned to us here as soon as possible. We must have this document on file in the cafeteria in order to be able to accommodate your child's need. It is required that each year a new prescription be filled out. Thank you in advance for your cooperation to this very important matter! As you may have seen on the news, there are new State guidelines as far as what we are able to offer to your child. You will notice less desserts are on the menu and more "home cooked" type entrees are offered. We will offer salad daily as long as the market price stays within reason. We will also offer fresh fruits daily. Your child may now have a choice of 3 vegetable, fruit, or juice servings. Think of that! If your child eats both breakfast and lunch with us, they have the potential to have 4 of the 5 recommended vegetable/fruit servings a day! What a great start to healthier children! Nutrition, nutrition, nutrition! Our milk selection has been altered as well to offer low fat, non fat, and chocolate milk. PLEASE NOTE: There can be no charges made to your child's meal accounts. Please make sure you have sufficient funds to pay for your child's breakfast and or lunch. We are no longer allowed to charge meals and an alternate meal of cheese sandwich and milk must be given instead. Because of the no charge policy, an automated calling system has been put in place to call your home when your child's balance falls below $3.50. This is not a call saying that money is owed, but a courtesy call to alert you to the fact that your child's account balance is getting low. The MCPSS breakfast and lunch prices for the 2009-2010 school year have changed. Please make note of these prices and send the correct amount to school with your child. You may pay in advance by the week or month, if that makes it convenient for you. If you have any questions, be sure to see our cafeteria manager, Cindy Laton, 221-1019.
